This is a large serving platter telling the story of a wild horse in the mountains with swallows and an owl for buddies, and pegasus flying to the sun. Smoke curls from a tiny house in the lower right corner.
Adriana originally quilted the design and took a plaster mold of it, capturing all the stitches and ripples of the fabric including the denim mountains and crazy quilted sky. Then birds, animals, trees, and house were added.
The platter rim is thick and notched, measuring 13x13". It's made of a light B-Mix clay, accentuated with Jet Black underglaze, glazed in Eggshell, and fired to cone 5.
15% of every sale goes to the fantastic Mendocino College Ceramics Program to support inspiring workshops led by artists and open to the public.
