This design was a quilted piece originally, and the clay picks up the detail of the horse stitching, denim texture, and fabric ripples. One side got the atmospheric blast of the soda kiln, getting a blue orange peel-like color.
Standing 6.5" tall and 3.75" across, the vase is made out of a light B-Mix clay with cobalt accentuating the designs, then soda fired.
